IHK Südthüringen | Training & Further Education

The IHK Südthüringen is the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Hildburghausen, the Ilm-Kreis, Schmalkalden-Meiningen, Sonneberg, and the independent city of Suhl. It is headquartered in Suhl, operates the main office at Bahnhofstraße 4-8, and complements the location with an educational center in Suhl-Mäbendorf as well as branches in Arnstadt and Sonneberg. As a corporation under public law, it represents the economic interests of its members and combines consulting, training, further education, and digital services into a regional service hub. Those looking for training, login, report book, exam results, events, or further education will not find a classic event location here, but rather a chamber that centralizes many job-related processes and simultaneously organizes events, fairs, and courses on-site. This mix makes the IHK Südthüringen relevant for companies, trainees, and professionals. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/fileadmin/Redakteure/05_IHK_SUEDTHUERINGEN/Rechtsgrundlagen/Allgemeine_Rechtsgrundlagen/20230427_Satzung_der_IHK_S%C3%BCdth%C3%BCringen_gez.pdf))

Trainee Info Center, Login, and Digital Services

The digital side of IHK Südthüringen is particularly important for trainees and companies because it consolidates several traditional administrative processes into a single system. On the overview page for Digital Services, the chamber shows that it has implemented numerous digitalization projects since 2018 and organizes its offerings into clear thematic blocks, such as training, IHK membership, further education, business licenses, IHK contributions, and expertise as well as other services. Under training, there are, among other things, the training and retraining contract, the registration of new trainers or professions, the trainee info center, the education service portal with digital report book, the ASTA info center for training companies, online exam registration, certificate check Cert4Trust, the examiner portal, exam statistics, and the certificate duplicate. Under membership, digital solutions such as membership certificates, electronic invoice dispatch, and consent forms are available. For further education, there are additional accesses such as AEVO registration, further education info center, and other specialized forms. This creates a digital ecosystem where login, service, and administration are closely interconnected. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/services))

The trainee info center is particularly strong because it directly supports the daily lives of trainees. There, trainees have all the important data regarding their training always at hand, whether at the company, in vocational school, or at home. The platform is accessible via smartphone, tablet, or PC and offers the digital trainee card, important contacts, personal data, information on exam dates, and later also exam results. To set up a personal account, one needs an activation code, which the IHK Südthüringen sends by post at the beginning of the training. Those who have not yet received the access data can request it again via an online form. This is not only convenient but also transparent, as changes to the residential address, email address, or phone number can be reported directly through the portal to the chamber. This reduces the risk that exam invitations or other important information will be lost. For the search intent login, this structure is ideal because the portal clearly explains the path from the start code to ongoing use. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/azubi-infocenter))

Training companies also benefit from this digital strategy. With the ASTA info center, they have the data of their registered trainees and trainers at their fingertips. This creates a common working basis, making training statuses, responsibilities, and organizational processes easier to understand. At the same time, the site shows that the IHK not only manages its members but actively supports them, for example, with digital contribution solutions, information and form services, or the electronic mailbox. Particularly for search queries related to info centers or ASTA, it becomes clear that the chamber pursues a modern service claim. It aims to make training processes less paper-heavy, reduce inquiries, and keep communication between the company, trainee, and IHK as simple as possible. In practice, this means: fewer media breaks, more speed, and a significantly better overview of ongoing processes. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/ausbildungsbetriebe/astainfocenter))

Report Book, Exam Results, and Training Certificates

The report book remains a central component of training despite all the digitalization. The IHK Südthüringen explicitly points out that trainees must maintain a training record according to the Vocational Training Act. This should document the operational activities, instruction topics, teaching discussions, and subjects of vocational school lessons. Each daily or weekly overview must be labeled with the name, training year, and reporting period, and the content should at least summarize what was actually learned in the company. The training company must provide the written training records free of charge, while the trainer should encourage the trainees to maintain it and review the report book regularly, at least monthly. If the record is not properly maintained, it can be considered a breach of contract. Thus, the report book is not just a form but a verification tool that makes training verifiable and traceable. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/bildung/ausbildung/berichtsheft/fuehren-des-berichtsheftes?utm_source=openai))

The chamber offers both traditional and digital ways for this. The education service portal provides the digital report book; there, daily and weekly reports can be created, submitted, viewed, approved, or commented on. Attachments and comments are also possible. The IHK describes the solution as a free digital report book solution for its members and emphasizes that administrative effort decreases while communication with trainees and the chamber remains constant. This is particularly interesting for companies and trainees when report books need to be maintained on the go or quickly checked in everyday life. Those who prefer to work analog can still find templates from the IHK Südthüringen in the download area. This keeps the topic of the report book flexible without losing sight of the legal requirements. The keyword-related search combination report book fits very well here because the IHK provides specific instructions and digital tools at this point. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/bildung/ausbildung/auszubildende/bildungsportal?utm_source=openai))

Equally important for training are the exam results. The IHK Südthüringen makes it clear that the preliminary results of the written final exams are only available through the trainee info center. Those who are not yet registered can sign up there afterwards. For data protection reasons, staff do not provide telephone information, explanations, or clarifications regarding the published results. For training companies, this means: The portal is the reliable and clear channel when it comes to exam results, dates, or important notifications. Intermediate exams continue to be sent by post to the training company, so the chamber uses different communication channels depending on the type of exam. This also indicates that training and exam organization at the IHK Südthüringen are clearly structured and run through the appropriate digital or analog channels. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/bildung/pruefung/pruefungsergebnisse/ausbildung))

Those who look at training holistically quickly realize that the chamber not only helps with documentation but also accompanies the entire exam process. On the page for trainees, there are consulting offers, information on training companies, training contracts, problems in training, and exam preparation. This places the report book in a larger context: it is part of a system that aims to make training traceable, verifiable, and legally secure. For the user, this is practical because they do not have to search between different places but can find many answers centrally on the IHK Südthüringen page. Precisely for this reason, report book, exam results, and training are closely linked in the keyword analysis and should be thought of together in content. Further Education at the IHK Education Center Suhl-Mäbendorf

The education center of IHK Südthüringen in Suhl-Mäbendorf is the most important place for further education, courses, and exams related to higher professional qualifications. It is located at Hauptstraße 33 in 98529 Suhl-Mäbendorf and is regularly accessible on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Fridays until 2:30 PM. For further education events, longer hours apply, namely from Monday to Saturday starting at 7:30 AM until the end of the course. These opening hours already show that the education center is geared towards learning formats with a presence character and longer daily schedules. The IHK describes further education as a motor and impulse generator for the continuous success of the South Thuringian economy. This results in a broadly structured offering, ranging from the current further education program to courses for higher vocational training to expertise and specialized exams and in-house training. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/kontakt))

Particularly relevant for the keyword cluster further education and training certificate are the offerings related to training of trainers and other recognized qualifications. On the event page, for example, the AEVO course for training of trainers, fire protection helper seminars, social media and marketing topics, quality management, controlling specialist, or annual financial statement modules appear. This shows that the IHK Südthüringen not only offers classic commercial further education but also covers modern management, digital, and organizational topics. A concrete example is the business management course in Suhl, where 14 participants have started a recognized advancement qualification, which, according to the IHK, takes place in a mix of online and face-to-face instruction. Such formats combine flexibility with personal exchange in the seminar rooms. The training of trainers course is also clearly described: 80 hours, Monday to Friday, targeting professionals who want to become trainers. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/mediathek/pressemitteilungen/september-2025/neuer-wirtschaftsfachwirt-lehrgang-in-suhl-gestartet))

This makes the education center a place of professional advancement and not just a pure course address. Those preparing for the next level will find offerings such as Bachelor or Master Professional, Certified Industrial Manager, Certified Retail Manager, Certified Technical Manager, Industrial Master Metal, or industry-specific seminars for personnel, management, law, or foreign trade. The IHK Südthüringen consciously positions the further education program as a guide so that interested parties do not have to compare various providers for long but can search directly in a central program. This is important for companies because they often have to organize their skilled workforce development in parallel with daily business. It is equally important for professionals because they want to plan their qualifications strategically, obtain their training certificate, or prepare for public law exams. This connection makes the education center a strong search result for anyone looking for education, further education, and training certificates in the Suhl area. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/bildung/weiterbildung))

Events, Exam Preparation, and Dates

The event page of IHK Südthüringen is an important meeting point for all those looking for current dates, exam preparation, or professional qualification. There are continuously listed events and further education offerings, including expertise and specialized exams, briefings, trainee courses, webinars, certificate courses, personnel and management topics, as well as industry-specific offerings for gaming halls, restaurants, and the transportation sector. A quick glance at the schedule overview shows how broadly the chamber operates: training of trainers, fire protection helpers, social media managers, strategically using LinkedIn, exam preparation for merchants or IT specialists, recruiting in rural areas, and many other formats. For search queries related to events or exam preparation, this is ideal because the page not only provides a date but also clearly shows the format, location, and target group. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/veranstaltungen/))

The regional impact of the IHK becomes particularly visible at the career information fair. The chamber refers to it as the largest training fair in the region, and the event will take place in 2026 on June 6 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Congress Centrum Suhl. More than 100 training companies will present themselves and their training offerings there; industries such as industry, trade, IT, health, automotive, hospitality, and public service are mentioned. Exhibitors come from the districts of Hildburghausen, Schmalkalden-Meiningen, Sonneberg, the city of Suhl, and the Ilm-Kreis. Appointments can be arranged in advance, making the fair visit significantly more manageable. The fair is therefore not just an event but a concentrated orientation aid for young people, parents, and companies. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/berufsinformationsmesse))

The retrospective also shows how established this format is. In 2025, more than 120 training companies participated, and over 1,400 visitors attended. At the fair, various professions were presented at action points, there was a trainee lounge, a job application check, and hands-on activities. The event has been running annually since 1995 and thus has a high recognition value in South Thuringia. The IHK also reports on hundreds of training professions and study programs that were explained at the fair, which explains the high informational content. This makes the event block so valuable: it connects date planning, talent acquisition, exam preparation, and career orientation in a single regional calendar. So, anyone looking for an event calendar, a program, or the fair in 2026 will find a very clear and current answer at IHK Südthüringen. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/berufsinformationsmesse))

Corporate Services, Membership, and Economic Representation

The IHK Südthüringen sees itself not only as a training and education provider but also as a representative of the regional economy. Its statutes specify that the IHK district includes the districts of Hildburghausen, Ilm-Kreis, Schmalkalden-Meiningen, Sonneberg, and the independent city of Suhl. It is also explicitly stated there that the IHK is headquartered in Suhl and may establish branches. As a corporation under public law, it performs economic policy tasks and can express opinions on matters that are in the overall interest of the businesses belonging to it. On its website, it describes itself as a strong voice of the regional economy towards politics, administration, and society. This is relevant for companies that need not only service but also orientation in location issues, promotion, skilled workforce development, and legal topics. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/fileadmin/Redakteure/05_IHK_SUEDTHUERINGEN/Rechtsgrundlagen/Allgemeine_Rechtsgrundlagen/20230427_Satzung_der_IHK_S%C3%BCdth%C3%BCringen_gez.pdf))

This role is evident in many small and large services in everyday life. The overview pages link to quick links such as contacts, digital services, exam results, expert directories, job offers, mediation registers, and further education offerings. Additionally, the chamber offers consultations on founding, financing, skilled workforce acquisition, legal questions, and entrepreneurial decisions. This makes it a central entry point for member companies when processes need to be clarified quickly. For the keyword search for jobs, the website quick link to job offers is important because interested parties can go directly to open positions and related information there. The advisory newsletter can also be subscribed to via the consent form, which is useful for regular information about dates, topics, and changes. This creates a service image that not only targets training but also keeps the entire spectrum of the regional economy in view. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/kontakt))

Particularly the digital service orientation makes the chamber attractive for members in everyday life. The electronic invoice dispatch, digital contribution collection, the mailbox, the eUZ, and various online forms show that many processes now function without paper and without detours. At the same time, personal contact is maintained, for example, through the central phone number, the contact form, or the direct contact person in the specialist departments. For a company in South Thuringia, this means: It can bundle topics related to membership, training, further education, or foreign trade at one point and does not have to switch between different administrative paths. The IHK is therefore not only an administrative structure but also a networking hub for economy, education, and region. This is precisely why it is so interesting in search intent because behind the term lies not just a location but an entire service and interest architecture. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/services))

Contact, Opening Hours, and Locations in South Thuringia

Those who want to reach IHK Südthüringen in person will find the main office at Bahnhofstraße 4-8 in 98527 Suhl. The opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Fridays until 2:30 PM. The education center at Hauptstraße 33 in 98529 Suhl-Mäbendorf is also centrally accessible and has the same core opening hours on weekdays; for further education events, operations begin at 7:30 AM and continue until the end of the course. The central phone number is +49 3681 362-0, and the general email address is info@suhl.ihk.de. Invoices should be sent exclusively to rechnungswesen@suhl.ihk.de. This information is useful for companies, trainees, and further education participants alike, as it clearly and concisely summarizes the most important contact routes. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/kontakt))

Additionally, there is a branch in Arnstadt at Krappgartenstraße 37-41, 99310 Arnstadt, and a branch in Sonneberg at Gustav-König-Straße 27, 96515 Sonneberg. Both locations have their own opening hours, which are listed on the contact page. For Sonneberg, the IHK currently points out that there may be issues with telephone accessibility due to technical difficulties with the telephone service provider; in this case, the business service center should be called at the central number. The regional structure with the main office, education center, and branches ensures that consulting, exams, and further education in South Thuringia are organized not only centrally but also spatially close. This is particularly helpful when appointments, documents, or personal conversations are pending on-site. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/kontakt))

It is also practical that the contact page provides quick links to contacts, digital services, exam results, job offers, mediation registers, and further education offerings. This makes the website itself a navigation point for various concerns. Those looking for information quickly can usually jump directly to the right form, portal, or appointment through the service pages. For visitors wanting to attend events or fair offerings, this structure is just as helpful as it is for companies needing contact with training managers or specialist departments. The IHK Südthüringen thus acts as a regional hinge between Suhl, Arnstadt, Sonneberg, and the other parts of South Thuringia. This combination of local proximity, digital accessibility, and professional breadth makes the location so relevant. ([suhl.ihk.de](https://www.suhl.ihk.de/kontakt))

Training companies also benefit from this digital strategy. With the ASTA info center, they have the data of their registered trainees and trainers at their fingertips.

The regional impact of the IHK becomes particularly visible at the career information fair.

Unfortunately, the certificate issuance was very disappointing. I registered on time as indicated and even received a confirmation email. Upon arrival, I was handwritten onto the list like some others before me. In the end, I was called up under a completely different profession with the words "for everyone who registered late." I find that totally humiliating in front of 300 people... Just as humiliating as the photo with my graduation certificate while a completely different profession was shown on the PowerPoint. I was really looking forward to a photo with my classmates. During registration, there was constant talk of "properly honoring the graduation." It's amazing how quickly the certificate issuance can be ruined, really a shame for an event you look forward to and travel a long way for. In hindsight, I should have just left it and had the certificate sent by post. At least then I wouldn't have had to embarrass myself.

What a shame. For months, I've been chasing the IHK for support on projects. Either I'm referred from one person to another or brushed off with the words: "We'll get back to you by next week at the latest." What are the membership fees for companies even for?

Apprentices have to register for the exam themselves! This is in no way thought out, let alone simple and easy to manage! Without a personal phone call, there's no way to make progress here. Terrible planning and a huge hassle for apprentices!
