50 Years of Women’s Choir Slusia: A Half Century Full of Choir Harmony
On October 24, 2026, the Women’s Choir Slusia Schleusingen will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special concert evening in the hall of the Rehazentrum Schleusingen. The anniversary honors five decades of musical community, cultural engagement, and vibrant choir tradition in the region.
Five Decades of Joyful Singing
The Women’s Choir Slusia e.V. was founded in 1976 and bears the name of the water nymph Slusia, who, according to tradition, is associated with the origin of the town name Schleusingen. Today, around 24 singers aged 17 to 75 are part of the ensemble. This cross-generational composition shapes the characteristic sound and connects experience with fresh stage energy.
Between Folk Songs, Modern Music, and Festive Choral Works
The choir's repertoire is versatile: folk and modern songs meet cheerful as well as reflective works. In the multi-voiced orchestration, individual voices merge into a cohesive choral sound, supported by the conducting and the precise synchronization of the singers.
A Choir with a Fixed Place in Cultural Life
The Women’s Choir Slusia regularly organizes concerts and public events in Schleusingen. Performances at the city festival, the Christmas market, choir meetings, and in senior homes are part of the long-standing musical engagement. The ensemble also enriches family celebrations and regional cultural events with a personal live atmosphere.
Anniversary Concert at the Rehazentrum Schleusingen
The hall of the Rehazentrum on Hildburghäuser Straße provides the fitting backdrop for reflecting on 50 years of club history. The audience can expect a festive concert experience with multi-part women’s singing, varied songs, and the special atmosphere of a choir anniversary.
Conclusion
The anniversary of the Women’s Choir Slusia connects musical tradition, regional connectedness, and the joy of communal singing. Anyone wishing to experience choral music, vibrant club history, and authentic stage performance should witness this special concert evening in Schleusingen live.
