Jazz between Tradition and Modernity: The Stefan Nagler-Trio live in Schleusingen

On Friday, November 13, 2026, the Stefan Nagler-Trio aka. Trio Bleu will fill the Künstlerhof Roter Ochse in Schleusingen with music. The concert combines finely arranged jazz standards with exciting original compositions and vibrant trio interaction.

Exciting Trio Sound with Plenty of Room for Improvisation

Stefan Nagler on piano, Kay Kalytta on drums, and Simon Quinn on double bass move confidently in the tension between tradition and modernity. Blues, swing, and bebop shape the sound, while dynamic solos and spontaneous musical dialogues provide special energy for the evening.

From the Federal Jazz Orchestra to International Stages

Stefan Nagler, born in 1987, began playing the piano at the age of six and studied jazz piano at the Institute for Music in Osnabrück. From 2010 to 2012, he was a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra and participated in the CD productions Bujazzo Vol. 9 – Originals and Bujazzo – City Grooves. Concert tours have taken him to France, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Great Britain, and New Zealand.

Among his recent performances is an appearance in 2024 with Stewart Copeland as part of the Police – Deranged Show. During his studies in New York City, Nagler played with Ari Hoenig and Anthony Tidd, among others. He also performed at international jazz festivals such as the Waiheke Island International Jazz Festival and the Cavell Leitch Jazz and Blues Festival in Christchurch.

An Evening for Attentive Ears

The music of the trio thrives on the balance of precise orchestration, rhythmic synchronization, and improvisational freedom. The piano sets melodic accents, the double bass gives depth to the compositions, and the drums open spaces for surprising turns. This creates a concentrated live atmosphere, where each instrument unfolds its own character.

Doors open at 7 PM, concert starts at 8 PM

Entry to the Künstlerhof Roter Ochse begins at 7:00 PM, and the concert starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets cost 15 Euros in advance, 18 Euros at the box office. Discounted tickets are available for 10 Euros.

The Stefan Nagler-Trio promises an intense concert experience with warm double bass, agile drumming, and an expressive jazz piano. Those who want to experience jazz in its versatile, dialogical, and immediate form should not miss this evening live in Schleusingen.
