Coffee Cult in Zella-Mehlis: An Aromatic Journey Through the World of Coffee
On November 12, 2026, the Citizen Gallery in the Community Center of Zella-Mehlis transforms into a meeting point for coffee lovers and the curious. Provinzkultur e.V. invites you together with Holger Herfurth to an enjoyable evening that combines knowledge, conversation, and special taste experiences.
From South American Cultivation Areas to Finished Roasting
The evening takes you through the entire coffee world: from cultivation in South American countries to different qualities and flavor nuances to transportation, processing, and roasting methods. Visitors gain exciting insights into the factors that shape the aroma, digestibility, and character of a coffee specialty.
Freshly Roasted Specialties for the Nose and Palate
The event experience becomes particularly sensual during the tasting of freshly roasted coffee specialties from around the world. Smell and taste take center stage as different nuances are experienced directly and compared with each other. The event atmosphere combines expert information with the familiar enjoyment of a good cup of coffee.
Holger Herfurth and the Art of Slow Roasting
Holger Herfurth discovered a special approach to coffee from personal experience. Because he claims that he could no longer digest conventional coffee well, he began to engage with longer roasting times at lower temperatures. This developed into an aromatic coffee that many people perceive as more digestible.
For over 15 years, Herfurth has shaped the regional coffee culture with the Sunbean coffee manufactory. About 30 tons of raw coffee are processed annually in Zella-Mehlis. More than 20 coffee varieties belong to the assortment, which is known far beyond the city. His story from a trained upholsterer to a coffee roaster who visited coffee farmers in Colombia and operated roasteries in several countries, he shares in conversation with Sandra Hyneck.
Conversation, Images, and Audience Questions
The moderation is handled by Sandra Hyneck. Illustrated insights, personal experiences, and questions from the audience make the evening an informative event for beginners and experienced coffee connoisseurs. The organization of Provinzkultur e.V. focuses on an approachable target audience communication and a varied event experience in the Citizen Gallery.
Conclusion: Experience Coffee Culture Live
Visitors can expect an atmospheric evening with well-founded knowledge, personal stories, and freshly roasted coffee specialties. Those who want to enjoy coffee more consciously, learn more about roasting, and get to know regional coffee culture first-hand will experience a special evening at the Coffee Cult in Zella-Mehlis.
