A Winter Fairy Tale Returns to the Stage
When the first snowflakes fall and the music of Karel Svoboda sounds, a gate opens at the Congress Centrum Suhl into a fairy tale world: Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella – The Musical brings the beloved Christmas classic live to Suhl on November 9, 2026. The production combines familiar motifs from the cult film with musical sounds, stage magic, and an emotional family story.
Between Snow-Covered Forest and Royal Ball
The focus is on Cinderella, who, after her father's death, suffers under the strictness of her stepmother and must work as a maid. But behind the apparent compliance, the desire for freedom grows. An encounter with the prince, three magical hazelnuts, and a glorious ball change her fate.
The staging leads through sparkling snowy landscapes, magnificent castle scenes, and a ballroom full of winter atmosphere. The set design, costumes, and lighting create the kind of fairy-tale theatricality that immediately draws the audience into the action. The lost shoe on the castle stairs becomes the dramatic turning point of a story about courage, self-determination, and the power of one's heart.
Cult Melody Meets New Musical Music
The iconic title melody by Karel Svoboda forms the musical foundation of the performance. It is complemented by new emotional compositions by Thomas Zaufke, who has been awarded the German Musical Theater Prize for his work. Thus, a musical dramaturgy emerges between nostalgic film memories and independent stage art.
The acting, live singing, and choreographed ensemble scenes come together for a stage experience for multiple generations. Familiar images gain new movement while the music brings the magic of the Christmas season directly into the hall.
A Musical for the Whole Family
The production is aimed at families, fairy tale lovers, and everyone who has associated the film classic with the Advent season for decades. The clear character portrayal, the fairy-tale imagery, and the blend of acting, singing, and dancing make the performance a festive theater evening for children and adults alike.
The Congress Centrum Suhl opens the Grand Hall for the event. Doors open at 6:00 PM, and the performance begins at 7:00 PM. According to pre-sale information, ticket prices start at 60.49 euros.
