kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle | Events & Tickets

The kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle in Suhl is more than just an event venue: it sees itself as an open meeting place for people who want to not only attend culture but live it together. On the website, the house describes itself as a place for music lovers, book freaks, film enthusiasts, students, seniors, families, and anyone looking for encounters, programs, and new ideas in Suhl. Tickets for events are available in advance, directly on-site during opening hours, or online in the ticket shop. The address is Friedrich-König-Straße 35 in 98527 Suhl. For evening events, the Kulturbaustelle recommends the parking lot at Am Neuen Rathaus, which is free from 5:00 PM. Events and Programs at the Kulturbaustelle Suhl

Those looking for events at the kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle will find a program that is intentionally broad and does not limit itself to a single genre. The official homepage mentions current events, highlights for the coming months, and a planning schedule that extends far into the future. Regularly featured on the highlight pages and in the event calendar are concerts with artists from the region, Germany, Europe, and even from around the world. The range includes rock and pop, folk, jazz, indie, and blues, as well as singer-songwriter, music cabaret, and excursions into acoustic, political, or narrative programs. This openness is a core aspect of the Kulturbaustelle: the house aims to bring together different generations and life worlds, offering not only classic stage evenings but also formats that invite thinking, participation, and return visits. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/?utm_source=openai))

Particularly striking is the variety of fixed series and recurring offerings. The official pages mention, among other things, DEFA film classics at the Kulturbaustelle, KINO behind the facade, storytelling café, reading café, crochet café, knitting & chatting, being cheerful & singing, the Open Stage, the Shortest Day or Short Film Day, as well as seasonal formats like the Holiday of the Workers' Day on May 1st. Additionally, there are game offerings, regular exhibitions, and discussion forums. This mix is no coincidence but part of the concept: the Kulturbaustelle works with low thresholds so that people not only come for an evening but discover a place for exchange and cultural habit. Therefore, those searching for Kulturbaustelle Suhl program, Kulturbaustelle Suhl event calendar, or kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle events will find a house that cleverly combines concerts, cinema, discussion, and encounters. Tickets, Advance Sales, and Box Office

Regarding ticketing, the kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle takes a pragmatic and visitor-friendly approach. The website names its own ticket shop as the central point of contact and also points out that tickets can be purchased directly at the Kulturbaustelle during opening hours or at events. This is convenient for those who prefer to drop by spontaneously and equally pleasant for people who want to plan their cultural evening early. Advance sales not only benefit the audience, as they are usually cheaper, but also the team on-site, as they make capacity more predictable. For inquiries such as Kulturbaustelle Suhl tickets or kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle tickets, it is therefore particularly important: the tickets are not tied to a single sales method but are intentionally distributed across several channels. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/))

The ticket pages also provide a specific organizational note: those booking less than five working days before the event after 6:00 PM cannot have the tickets sent by post. In this case, the tickets will be available at the box office under the names of the buyers. Additionally, several current event pages inform about typical price structures, such as advance sale prices of 15 euros and box office prices of 19 euros for individual concerts. The note about free admission for children up to 16 years accompanied by a guardian also appears on several concert pages. The Kulturbaustelle operates transparently and understandably: those who book early usually benefit from advance sales, while those who decide later still have a reliable solution at the box office. This is an important signal for a non-commercial cultural venue. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/ticket-shop/))

Directions, Parking, and Opening Hours

The address of the Kulturbaustelle is clear and easy to remember: Friedrich-König-Straße 35, 98527 Suhl. This is helpful for directions, as visitors can locate the venue directly within the city area of Suhl. The official contact page also provides a phone number and points out the possibility to get in touch via email, contact form, WhatsApp, or social channels. This is a useful point for people who want to confirm something before a visit. Those searching for Kulturbaustelle Suhl directions or kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle contact will quickly find the most important practical information. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/kontakt/?utm_source=openai))

Parking rules are also clear: for evening events, the parking lot at Am Neuen Rathaus should be used, which is free from 5:00 PM. This information is available on the homepage, in the imprint, and on the contact page, making it a particularly reliable indication for all those arriving by car. The core opening hours of the Kulturbaustelle are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM; extended hours apply for events. Thus, the venue remains accessible during the day as a meeting point, ticket sales location, and neighborhood place. Those who want to plan their evening precisely should always check the event calendar as individual formats may last longer or start earlier. For visitors, the combination of fixed core hours, free evening parking, and flexible event times is particularly pleasant. The History of kubus e.V. and the Kulturbaustelle

The history of the Kulturbaustelle begins with a clear cultural political claim. In the autumn of 2014, the non-profit association kubus e.V. was founded with the aim of creating a place in Suhl where concerts, readings, exhibitions, film events, workshops, and discussion rounds can take place. The association's page explicitly emphasizes that the offerings are aimed at young and old, locals and newcomers, and should be accessible regardless of income, origin, or gender. In March 2015, the Kulturbaustelle was opened. The name is programmatically chosen: a construction site is never finished; it remains open to further ideas, new people, and joint building on a stable foundation. This openness continues to shape the self-understanding of the house to this day. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/der-verein/))

The historical development also includes the association's work behind the scenes. The page Behind the Scenes makes it clear that kubus e.V. is a volunteer and participatory project that sees itself as part of the regional socio-culture and is a member of the LAG Soziokultur Thüringen e.V. It also becomes clear how strongly individual people and initiatives have shaped the place: for example, Dr. Karlheinz Walther is remembered, who initiated discussion formats and the ongoing cinema series DEFA film classics at the Kulturbaustelle since January 2018. Such details show that the Kulturbaustelle is not a randomly created space but a cultural project developed over years with attitude, continuity, and a sense of community. Those searching for the history of the Kulturbaustelle Suhl or kubus e.V. background will find a place that has grown out of civic engagement and continues to thrive on this energy. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/der-verein/))

Formats, Series, and Typical Evenings

A significant appeal of the Kulturbaustelle lies in its program dramaturgy. The current highlight pages not only announce individual concerts but also fixed series and thematic evenings that give the house its own profile. These include, among others, DEFA film classics at the Kulturbaustelle, KINO behind the facade, storytelling café, reading café, crochet café, knitting & chatting, and being cheerful & singing. These series are complemented by game offerings, regularly occurring exhibitions, discussion forums, the Open Stage, and special seasonal formats. This is particularly relevant for inquiries such as Kulturbaustelle Suhl cinema, Kulturbaustelle Suhl reading, or Kulturbaustelle Suhl exhibition, as the venue cannot be reduced to a single cultural field. Rather, it shows how strongly a small, dedicated space in a city like Suhl can simultaneously be a concert stage, discussion place, and creative workshop. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/eventkalender-juni-2026/highlights-april-juni-2026/))

The typical evenings are deliberately designed to be approachable. The event pages provide entry times, start times, and often specific price information. For some concerts, for example, an entry time of 7:00 PM and a start time of 8:00 PM are mentioned, along with advance sales and box office. The content ranges from folk-rock and Americana to singer-songwriter, blues, country, indie, songwriting, and politically colored texts, as well as films with cult status and formats with coffee, discussions, or creative handicrafts. This mix makes the Kulturbaustelle a place where an evening consists not only of stage events but also of atmosphere, encounters, and conversation. Those looking for a cultural venue that is small enough for intimacy and large enough for diversity will find exactly this format in Suhl. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/eventkalender-juni-2026/highlights-april-juni-2026/))

Participation, Atmosphere, and Contact

The Kulturbaustelle is explicitly intended as a participatory space. The homepage invites not only to watch but also to contribute ideas, make suggestions, become sponsors, or be part of the project. This aligns with the formulation that the house sees itself as a neighborhood meeting place: one can drink coffee or tea there, enjoy a glass of wine, play a game of chess, browse books, or simply have a chat. These everyday scenes are important because they show that the Kulturbaustelle does not only function in the evening hours but also serves as a social place during the day. Those searching for Kulturbaustelle Suhl contact will find a direct phone number, email, contact form, and references to social channels on the website. Thus, an event address becomes an accessible, approachable house with a personal touch. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/))

The topic of support is also actively addressed. The website asks for help through participation, ideas, donations, or practical support, making it clear that the operation thrives on engagement. This is particularly important for a non-profit cultural venue, as it is not just about consuming a program but creating infrastructure for culture in everyday life. The community around kubus e.V. appears open and diverse: those who want to participate do not have to become a member of the association first but can also help with small contributions, an idea, or their presence. It is precisely from this that the special atmosphere of the Kulturbaustelle Suhl arises: a place where culture, encounter, and neighborhood intertwine. Therefore, those who want to not only attend a concert but also get to know a vibrant cultural space will find a convincing entry point into the cultural life of the city here. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/))

Who the Kulturbaustelle is Particularly Worthwhile For

The Kulturbaustelle appeals to an astonishingly broad audience. Even the self-presentation mentions music lovers, world improvers, connoisseurs, book freaks, neighbors, students, little ones, seniors, sponsors, and film enthusiasts. This is precisely its strength: the place is not elitist but open to different interests, age groups, and access to culture. Families find connection here just as much as people looking for a quiet reading evening or visitors who come mainly for live music, film series, or discussion formats. This versatility makes the Kulturbaustelle particularly suitable for anyone looking for a program that does not seem interchangeable but is characterful and locally anchored. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/))

Content-wise, the house is also interesting for people who consciously seek alternatives to the mainstream. The association states that it considers offerings beyond the mainstream to be meaningful and necessary and sees a cultural foundation in this. Recent program points feature musicians from Thuringia, Germany, Europe, and around the world, as well as authors, film images, discussion evenings, and participatory formats. Therefore, those searching for kubus e.V. Kulturbaustelle events or Kulturbaustelle Suhl program who expect not only dates but also attitude will find it here: it is about culture as encounter, about space for new perspectives, and about a place that consciously aims for something different than mere standard entertainment in Suhl. This is what makes the Kulturbaustelle a strong, credible cultural offering in South Thuringia. ([kulturbaustelle-suhl.de](https://www.kulturbaustelle-suhl.de/der-verein/))

Here, Boris and his team always present us with some new and also old cultural highlights of the small arts scene. It's remarkable what new things there are to discover in this small and unpretentious space. A cultural must in Suhl and the surrounding area.

Worth a visit. The beer is okay, but maybe the beer price (Ur-Krostitzer) could be lowered a bit. You always meet nice people. The interior design is great, very cozy. We would love to come back 🙂
